After teasing audience with some amazing posters, the makers of Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam-starrer ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ finally released the trailer of the film. The film revolves around the problem of electricity theft. In the movie, Shahid is playing role of a guy who couldn’t care less about the electricity problem his town is facing. All seems going well until one day when Shahid’s friend Divtendu decides to open a factory.
However, when the electricity board slaps a bill of several lakh, he takes his own life as he is unable to pay off the debit. This is when a shocked Shahid takes it on himself to avenge his friend’s death and injustice in the court.
The first half of the trailer leaves you confused as you don’t know what’s going on until the second half which clears what the story is. What we like in the trailer is although it deals with a serious topic, there are some light heart moments which surely don’t make the film melodramatic. Overall, the trailer is really intriguing and will grab your attention. The tag-line of the film reads, ‘Fused bulb cannot bring revolution’. Helmed by Shree Narayan Singh, ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ will hit the theatres on September 21.

Fed up with his mother and her way of following him everywhere, Vivaan erupts and leaves home. The film also stars Neha Dhupia and Tota Roy Chowdhary. Directed by Pradeep Sarkar and written by Mitesh Shah, the film will hit theaters on September 7.
