Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chilies Films is producing Badla which stars Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles. The film marks the reunion of the Pink stars and the trailer has garnered a lot of positive response from masses. There was a rumour that SRK was to do a cameo in the film. Director Sujoy Ghosh is tight-tipped about it but he has never denied it. Now, news is that SRK and Amitabh have indeed shared screen for the film but in a way you will never expect. Oh yes, both megastars have done a conversational video where they discuss their filmography, and in general life trajectories. This is supposed to be one iconic conversation where both Big B and SRK will share some fun anecdotes from all the time they have worked together and more. This is a promotional video for Badla but film buffs will surely go crazy to watch this gem.
Amitabh Bachchan’s punchlines, Taapsee’s powerful acting and of course the gripping storyline holds out a promise that Badla is going to be one film that no one can ever miss! There are a lot of expectations from this mystery thriller and we hope it lives up to the hype. Aside from Badla, Amitabh has Brahmastra in the pipeline with Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
Shah Rukh, on the other hand, has not signed anything because he has become very cautious after the Zero debacle at the box office.
Ajith is now basking in the success of his recently-released film Viswasam, directed by Siruthai Siva. The rural entertainer which released on January 10 is having a dream run at the box office and is said to have grossed Rs 125 crore in Tamil Nadu alone.
The actor is now gearing up for his next film, which is a remake of Hindi blockbuster Pink. Ajith will be reprising Amitabh Bachchan’s role in the Tamil version, which will be helmed by H Vinoth of Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru fame.
The latest addition to the cast of Pink Tamil remake is Bollywood actress Vidya Balan. Though she doesn’t like doing remakes, she has agreed to do a guest role in the film, which marks Boney Kapoor’s maiden production venture in Kollywood.
In an interview to an English magazine, she revealed why she accepted to star in a remake. She said, “I’m doing a special appearance in the remake. It’s a small role. It’s special appearance because Boney ji (Kapoor) is producing it. He offered it to me. He said that there is a special appearance, will you do it? I said I will do it for you. I don’t like to do remakes. I’m doing this purely for Boneyji. I share a special affection for him.”
She further added that she wouldn’t be playing two of the three girls in the film. The full-fledged shooting of Pink Tamil remake will commence sometime in February.
It is being speculated that Nazriya Nazim and Kalyani Priyadarshan have been roped in to play one of the three girls in the movie. The makers are expected to announce the entire cast in the coming days.
The Tamil remake of Pink will hit the theatres on Ajith’s birthday, which falls on May 1. It is said that the makers have made some changes to the script to suit the Tamil audience.
Thugs of Hindostan is turning out to be not just a critical but also a commercial disappointment. If the numbers on Friday and Saturday couldn’t come anywhere close to the Friday opening, Sunday wasn’t any better. This is supposed to be the biggest day for any film and though it would have been miraculous for the Vijay Krishna Acharya directed film to touch 50 crore again even with excellent word of mouth, lack of that made it all the more difficult for it to even dream of anything like that.
The results were there to be seen as the numbers stayed terribly lower at 16 crore*. When one looks at the fact that this is an event film graced with the biggest starcast, production house and release coupled with the fact that all 5000 odd screens are at its disposal, there is a clear indication that acceptance has not been there at all.
It is now almost a crash situation and as a result, the film currently stands at 118 crore*. However with regular working days beginning from today and festivities and celebrations coming to a close, one waits to see how Monday turns out to be. Indications are that the collections would go below 10 crore mark today which won’t be a good sign at all for the film.
Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif starrer Thugs Of Hindostan is all set to hit the screen this Diwali weekend i.e. on November 8, 2018. Amid all the buzz, the latest reports stating that the big budget YRF film will release in Pakistan without any cuts. As per report, touted to be a grand entertainer, Thugs Of Hindostan will be releasing in the neighbouring country without having a single cut. Earlier, Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar was released in the country without any trim on the reel as well.
Apparently, Aamir’s globally famous film Dangal had not released in Pakistan. In fact, the actor himself had refused to release the blockbuster in Pakistan without the national flag scene. Hence, after a year later, fans from the country must be very excited to see Mr Perfectionist once again on the big screen. Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, Thugs Of Hindostan has indeed created a lot of buzz among the masses.
Aamir Khan, who is playing Firangi Mallah in TOH, considered the character as the toughest one of his career. During a media interaction, he said, “I’m hoping that people enjoy the character and take him for what he is. It’s a very unusual hero. I have not seen a hero like that in Hindi films.” Moreover, when he was questioned about similarities between his character from TOH and Jack Sparrow (played by Johhny Depp) in the Pirates of the Caribbean, he said, “Intrinsically, they are both similar characters because dono badmaash hai (both are naughty). I personally feel and hope that when you see Firangi then you will forget Jack Sparrow. I don’t think Victor wrote it based on Jack Sparrow.”
Tamil superstar Ajith will next join hands with director H. Vinoth of Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru fame.Reports suggest that Boney will bankroll the project, which is tentatively called Thala 59.

Moved by the plight of a farmer who made it to the ‘hot seat’ of game show “Kaun Banega Crorepati”, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who is doing his bit to help the farmer community, has urged the public to step forward and help pay off their loans.
A farmer named Anantkumar Khanke made it to the show, and spoke about his struggle to survive. This led Amitabh Bachchan to urge people to come forth and help the farmers in whatever way possible.
Khanke said his annual income is around Rs 60,000 if they face a good rainy season. When there is a shortage of water, he pays Rs 100 per gallon for farming.
Big B, who himself does a lot for the farmers in his own way, narrated an incident which sensitised him to the farmers’ plight, read a statement.
He narrated: “When I was shooting in Visakhapatnam around a decade back, I read in the newspaper then, that farmers are committing suicide for amounts like Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000. I felt very bad reading this. When I came back, I contacted an NGO here and asked them if I could be of any help in saving the lives of farmers and that’s how I got a list of 30-40 people whose loans I could pay off.
“A few years ago, there was distress in Vidarbha due to shortage of rainfall and I cleared loans of around 100 farmers and recently in Maharashtra, I have ensured that the loans of around 360 farmers have been paid off to the banks. My next step is to help clear loans of approximately 850 farmers in Uttar Pradesh.”
He said that by mentioning this, he is hopeful that even if around 10 or 12 people, who find it within their capacity and capability, step forward and help in saving the lives of farmers, they would have “set an example for many more and in turn so many farmers’ lives would be saved”.
“I would urge people to understand the plight of our ‘anna-data’ (farmers) and the kind of hardships they are facing. I do not want to boast about myself but I want everyone to help our farmers who face the shortage of even having basic necessities.
“If anyone of you, individually or collectively can pay off their loans, I join my hands to request you to please help them. This will be the biggest contribution you can make to the farmers of our country.”
“Kaun Banega Crorepati” is aired on Sony Entertainment Television.
With just 9 days to go for the release of Thugs Of Hindostan, the industry is expecting nothing but an earth-shattering start at the box office on 8th November 2018. Starring Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in lead, the action entertainer will release on approximately 5000 screens in India (Hindi + Tamil + Telugu). A few days back ,we reported how the rates for the film will be 10% higher than Sanju, thereby having the costliest average price per ticket.
And now, the exhibition centre has confirmed that the film will get record showcasing across India. Given the pre-release demand for the film from the audience, the exhibitors in metros have decided to open gates at their cinema halls as early as 7.00 am. This is a feat that happens for very few films with a couple of them being Aamir Khan films like 3 Idiots, Dhoom 3 and PK. As the run-time of the film is approximately 2 hour 45 minutes (165 minutes), the exhibitors have decided to allot a 3-hour 10-minute slot per show to the film. On an average, the film will have 5 – 6 shows per screen at the multiplexes whereas 4-5 shows per screen at the single screens, differing from theatre to theatre and territory to territory. Taking into consideration all factors, the Aamir Khan film will at-worst have 22,000 plus shows across the country, with a possibility of the count touching the 25,000 shows mark.
There will be a lot of multiplexes across India that would give at-least one show per day per screen to Badhaai Ho, which is expected to continue its’ golden streak even in the Diwali weekend. That apart, it is all going to be a Thugs of Hindostan show. The final show count as well as screen count would depend on the release status in Madhya Pradesh. If Thugs of Hindostan fails to get a release in the state, the pan-India screen count would be around 4600 to 4650 screens, and the show count would be around the 20,000 mark. There is a solid enquiry regarding the advance booking status of the film all across the country, and the tickets are expected to sell like hot-cakes. To inform all our readers, the advance ticket sales will open from Saturday, 3rd November, 2018 at most of the centres – be it single screens or multiplexes.
So the countdown has begun as the audience gear up to see Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan together in a film as humongous as Thugs of Hindostan.
After treating fans with an exhilarating trailer, the makers of much-anticipated ‘Thugs of Hindostan‘ have unveiled the first song of the movie, titled ‘Vashmalle’. High on energy and fun quotient, the one minute and 10 seconds clip features Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan dancing with their group on the ship.
In the song, the ‘Piku’ actor is dressed in a brown-coloured dhoti, black kurta and a headgear. Aamir, on his part, carries his look as a tramp with curly hair all over his forehead, a maroon-coloured loose pant and inner vest and a green shirt.
‘Thugs of Hindostan’ is set in the era of 1975 when the East India Company ruled over India.
The movie is based on Philip Meadows Taylor’s 1839 novel ‘Confessions of a Thug’ and is about a gang who posed a serious challenge to the British Empire in India (then known as Hindustan or Hindostan) during the early 19th century.
The thriller, which stars Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Fatima Sana Shaikh, British actor Llyod Owen, Jackie Shroff, and Shashank Arora, is all set to hit the theatres on November 8.
